Friday 3rd June 9.30 to 11am. Our church will be serving Toast and Tea and we look forward to welcoming you.
On Saturday 28th May from 10am to 2pm our church will be open and we will be serving tea/coffee and scones (there will also be a bric-a-brac stall). The weekend will be the Wirksworth Welldressings which has been reinstated after a break of three years. We look forward to welcoming you.
Christian Aid Week is supported throughout the town. At the start of Christian Aid Week there will be a joint service at Wellspring Church at 6pm on Sunday 15th May.
On 1st June at 7.30pm the last of our Wednesday Gatherings for this session will be held. On request this is to be a Musical Evening when members will share a piece of music saying why it is special to them. We will resume the Wednesday Gatherings in September when we will have a varied programme including Poetry Evenings, Quizzes, Musical Evenings, Bible Study, Eco Events etc etc. You are welcome to join us.
Our Minister, Revd Camilla Veitch, will lead a Reflective Service in the URC on Maundy Thursday at 6pmwhich will help us to reflect on Jesus’ journey to the cross. Our Easter Service will be led by our Minister Revd Camilla Veitch when we celebrate the Resurrection. A most joyous time. Do come and join us.
An Easter Morning Sunrise Service celebrating the Resurrection was held at the Star Disc in Wirksworth. The service was led by our Minister Revd Camilla Veitch and here is one of the pictures taken as the sun rose over Wirksworth. .
There will be an Act of Witness / Service beginning at 9.45am led by St Teres’a Church starting at the Market Place.
Holy Week begins with Palm Sunday when the Church remembers how Jesus arrived at the gates of Jerusalem just a few days before the Passover was due to be held. He was the Messiah come to His own peple in their capital city, and yet He came in Humility riding on a young donkey. Our Palm Sunday Service will be led by Brian Heeley. A warm welcome to all.
