Baroque ensemble playing on original instrumentswho will perform music by Telemann, Purcell, Loeillet, Handel and Bach at West Derbyshire URC, Coldwell Street, Wirksworth on Saturday 25th January at 4.30pm. Admission Free. Collection in Aid of Derby Refugee Advice Centre and Wirksworth’s Music Lessons Fund.

Fairtrade will be having a stall at the Wirksworth Farmers Market on 3rd October – do call at the stall – an invitation to all.

What a super event – thanks to everyone who helped and to everyone who supported. £600 raised for church funds.

During this weekend the town comes alive with lots of visitors all enjoying the work of hundreds of artists and makers showing their work in houses, historic and quirky buildings, gardens, shop windows and churches. It is a great opportunity to buy affordable art, meet and have a chat to the artists/craftsmen. Street theatre can also be enjoyed together with music.

West Derbyshire URC will be open on the Saturday when we will be serving cakes / scones / savoury items /coffee / tea. We will have pleasure in providing this service and it will be lovely to welcome visitors (and friends of course) who are enjoying all that is to see as they wander around the town.

On Sunday 13th September at 10am we will be holding “Thanksgiving Songs of Praise” which will be led by Roy Powlson. Come and enjoy singing hymns and hearing about how and why they were written. As with all our services and events a warm welcome is given to all.

Our Harvest Thanksgiving will be held on Sunday 27th September at 10am and will be led by Revd Dr Stephen Orchard. There will be a Harvest Lunch on Saturday 27th September.

Fairtrade Fortnight 2024 will run from the 21st September – 4th October. It’s 30 years since Fairtrade products first hit the shelves and this year for Fairtrade Fortnight, we’re spotlighting how YOU can Be The Change, by choosing Fairtrade every time.

Our Monday morning prayers (9am – 9.30am) are held online via zoom. Please feel free to join members and friends to pray for the church, the community or any particular needs. For information on the online zoom connection please contact our Church Secretary.

There will not be a Craft Evening in August so therefore the next Craft Evening will be held on Monday 21st September from 7 to 8.30pm. It is held in the church. New members always welcome to join our regular “Crafters”.

Joyce and Carole kindly donated a Fairtrade Hamper and we are pleased to say that the lucky winner was one of the young people at church. Thanks to all supported the event. £105 was raised for church funds.
